I couldn't even say that there was more dodging or interrupting than, say, WoW. Obviously in an MMO shopkeepers couldn't run out of money to buy your cast off crap the way they do in Skyrim so that's cut too. Sub-optimal decision might be fun when you're alone, but you're going to get the piss ripped out of you in group content if the other group members see your 'unorthodox' build. Or that you can learn whatever skills you like. Or that friendly fire is a danger again, far to griefable, but not being able to indiscriminately nuke a target with fireballs when your melee friends are right next to it was one of the things that made Skyrim feel good, or at least internally consistent. Easier to just assume that if something was in LoS when you pressed 'fire', then it's a hit. Or that aiming of arrows and spells actually matters tricky when you're tracking all the arrows across a world and having to minimise lag whilst you're at it. It's important to the way Skyrim feels, but it's too open to griefing in an MMO where someone could decide to AFK in the way of a busy door, and everyone else would have to go round them. Mechanically, the things that I liked about Skyrim don't mix well with MMO. The experience of being in a party is that of each having to do all the work, and the only comradeship being that you're more or less doing it at the same time. You each have to go round and chat to every missing crew member or whatever individually, rather than feeling like there's two of you helping each other and working together.

In a further step away from the 'Multiplayer Skyrim' experience I would have wanted, if two of you are playing together and in a party, quest credit isn't shared. And of course, in ESO all the quest text is telling you how unique and special you are, which makes seeing everyone else doing exactly the same quests all the worse. It's the sort of let down you get when you decide to go walking in the Lake District but don't pay attention to the dates and go on the August Bank Holiday weekend by accident and find that there's literally a queue of people going over Striding Edge, and the thing that you thought was a bit special and adventurous is actually something that everyone and their dog is doing and you have to stand in line for. The feelings that Skyrim evokes - being alone, up in the mountains, breathing the cold clear air and looking out hundreds of miles without another soul in sight, perhaps the odd hamlet nestling in the hills - are completely missing from ESO. My girlfriend likes playing Skyrim, and it would be nice if the two of us could both play at once, so we could help each other with quests instead of having to take it in turns at the keyboard. It turns out, I never wanted a MASSIVELY Multiplayer Online Skyrim. since then, I've started playing TSW, and I'm getting really into it =) Rule violators will be warned and/or subsequently removed at the discretion of the moderation team.This is what I thought after the beta weekend before last.
